AVG 8 Slowing Down Your Computer Fix
If
AVG 8 Free Virus Protection is making your system run very slow then
there are options to turn off the link scanner permanently. If you try and just
turn it off in AVG you will have a constant exclamation mark and pop up telling
you it is turned off. To do it safely use one of the two options below.
- Download the AVG 8.0 Free Edition installation package.
Save the AVG Free installation file directly to your disk C:\ but do not
click on the avg_free_stf_en_8_100a1295.exe file
Now got to Start -> Run and copy and paste this into the box
c:\avg_free_stf_en_8_100a1295.exe /REMOVE_FEATURE fea_AVG_SafeSurf
/REMOVE_FEATURE fea_AVG_SafeSearch
- Open internet explorer go to tools, then manage add ons, then enable or
disable addons, select AVG Safe Search and click on disable.
