Disable wmpnscfg.exe for windows media player from start up permanently
If you have typed in msconfig and unchecked wmpnscfg.exe from your startup
and it keep re-appearing then you need to run registry editor and disable it
permanently. Go to run and type in regedit, then navigate to the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\HME
look in the right hand pane for the DWORD DisableDiscovery
right click it and choose modify and under value data change the number to 2. If
the DWORD does not exist then you will have to create it. Navigate again to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\HME
right click on HME this time and select "new" then "DWORD value" and name it
DisableDiscovery right click it and choose modify and under value
data change the number to 2
Now when you restart your comp wmpnscfg.exe will no longer run at startup
