Enable ActiveX and Javascript in Internet Explorer and Disable Script
Blocking
Are you having problems downloading or installing some programs and receiving
errors. If so then you will need to follow the steps below to fix you downloads
and installs.
- Download and install
Java Console
- Check ActiveX add ons are not disabled - Open internet explorer go to
tools, manage add ons, enable or disable add ons, then drop the box down to
“Downloaded ActiveX Controls” and make sure they are all enabled. Then go to
step 2.
- Enable ActiveX Javascript Controls by following these instructions:-
Open internet explorer, select tools then internet options, click the
Security tab, from here you are going to click on the "Internet", "Local
intranet" and "Trusted sites" icons individually and change the settings for
them as shown below:-
- Click on the "Internet" icon then click the Custom Level button,
make sure that ActiveX controls and plug-in settings are all set to
enable, if enable produces a warning colour then use the prompt icon
option instead then click ok.
- Now click on the "Local intranet" icon next to it, click the Custom
Level button, make sure that ActiveX controls and plug-in settings are
all set to enable, if enable produces a warning colour then use the
prompt icon option instead then click ok.
- Now you click on the "Trusted Sites" icon next to it, click the
Custom Level button, make sure that ActiveX controls and plug-in
settings are all set to enable, if enable produces a warning colour then
use the prompt icon option instead then click ok.
- You will also need to make sure you uncheck any item disabling "Script
Blocking" in some anti-virus or firewall programs or use this small program
noscript.exe to do it automatically for you.
