O2 simcards are FREE online from O2 by clicking here. Do not buy a simcard from any other retailer or shop (unless it is an O2 store) as they DO NOT provide the online offers on their cards.

Offpeak Evenings are 19:30 to 07:30 Monday to Sunday and Offpeak Weekend is Midnight Friday to Midnight Sunday. All other times are classed as Peak times.

If your O2 card is lost or stolen call O2 on 08705 678 678 and they will bar your simcard and/or phone to prevent someone being able to use it. They will then post you FREE OF CHARGE a replacement simcard and even re-activate the lost number and will transfer automatically any outstanding balance and all offers you have set up. They cannot however retrieve any of your stored numbers on the simcard so always keep a backup. You should receive the new simcard within 2 or 3 days at most. I am not aware of a time limit to retrieve the number and simcard so it is worth doing for a card you even lost a while back.

If you have accidentally blocked your O2 simcard then it is quite easy to retrieve you free PUK Unblocking code. Call customer service on 08705 678 678 and go through the automated option or get it online.

By dialling the top up line free (4444) or holding hotkey 3 on your mobile phone and then choosing option 2 three times. You can find out much allowance you have remaining, your top up date and what tariff you are currently on.

Call 2211 to see what O2 treats are available for you to choose once you have been a customer for 6 months or more and topped up an average of at least £10 a month. You can pre-register if you have been a customer for less than 6 months.

To receive 10% money back on all top ups text REWARD to 50202 and they give you the money back in July, October, January and April. If you simply can't wait to find out how much you're earning, text BALANCE to 50202 anytime and they'll let you know.

If you don’t follow the instructions below then you wont receive a delivery report. This is how to set them up to know when a text message has been delivered. Before you type a message you type *0# (it is zero not the letter O) then immediately type the text message after it i.e. *0#see you later your friend receives the message of just “see you later” and you get a delivery report back. You can check it by sending yourself a test message.

If you cannot read Media Messages or access the internet on your O2 mobile phone then you need to get the Media Message Settings and Internet Settings sent straight to your mobile phone. Click here to have them sent straight to your mobile phone.

You know how it is, you’re just about to run out of credit and you really need to send a text saying you’re going to be late. All you have to do is call 4444 free from your mobile and select the ‘Lend Us a Quid’ option and they will credit your balance with £1.

Are you unhappy receiving balance notification messages after your calls and texts? If you are then a quick call to customer service on 4445 (Calls charged at flat rate of 25p per call) can have it removed or you can request the removal online

Voicemail (dial 901 to listen to messages) is available to all O2 customers. You can turn it on by calling 1750 and turn it off by calling 17690. Voicemail is NOT free on payandgo mobiles but you can choose it as a free O2 Treat once you have been a customer for 6 months. If you prefer you can have the free Call Alert Service that will notify you by text if you have missed a call while out of network range or if your phone was turned off. To turn on call alert dial 1710 to turn it off dial 1760. You cannot have the call alert service and voicemail active at the same time.
