Miser HusbandThere was a man who had worked all of his life, had saved all of his money, and was a real miser. On his death bed he said to his wife "When I die, I want you to take all my money and put it in an envelope in the coffin with me. I want to take it with me to the afterlife" The wife being a good Christian promised her miser husband. Well, he sadly died. Just before the undertakers closed the lid the wife stood up and placed an envelope inside the coffin as per her husbands dying wishes. Her friend said, "Did you really put all his money in that envelope?" The loyal wife replied "Listen, I'm a Christian I can't go back on my word I promised him. I got all the money together, put it into my account and wrote him a cheque. If he can cash it in the afterlife, the old miser, then he can god damn spend it there." |
